Is 1290 a decent score to apply to a good American university or is it better to apply in Canada?

While 1290 is on the lower side for the most elite American colleges and universities, admissions processes at all of these schools are comprehensive/holistic, and that score is certainly high enough not to be disqualifying. It is best to consider your test scores, grades, athletic/extracurricular activities, personal passions, work experiences, and overall life narrative in assessing the strength of your application rather than simply focusing on an SAT score.
